Basic but had lonely staff

Lovely man runs hotel very quirky chap above and beyond. Nice style I like. Family vibe. Could hear children crying and msn throwing up loudly all through night from next door though. Nice breakfast and a funny family who run it. More of a b&b than hotel. No lights or TV worked. Shower was tiny. Clean however.

We booked a double room but were given a very cramped family room with an uncomfortable double bed hard against a bunkbed. No en suite which, considering the price, was poor. Shared bathroom with four other rooms, and it wasn't very clean, with signs of damp around the shower. Hygiene standard in the room, however, was worse still - sweet wrappers and used tissues under the bed, layers of dust on every surface, broken lamp, dirty window. Staff were friendly and the breakfast wasn't too bad, but overall a pretty awful experience.

The nice welcome and giving nice care to customer,great breakfast and friendly owner.Arrive there a little late,and was made very welcome,had a long drive, the owner was very understanding,explain the time for breakfast and give me direction to local restaurant

Very small single room with bunkbeds. The walls were in need of a paint, lots of marks, tea stains etc on wall. The one chair in the room was broken, so I had to sit on the bed for my overnight stay. Shared bathroom was satisfactory, bed was comfortable. Tea, coffee, kettle and biscuit and small tv in room. The dining area and main front house was very clean. Breakfast was good, freshly cooked, and lovely toast. Staff were really nice and friendly. Has parking facilities, and is on the main bus route into Edinburgh, and also to the airport, with bus stop right outside of hotel. The room was surprisingly quiet considering the hotel is on the main road.

We had an overnight stay to watch a football match at Murrayfield . Ideal as only a 10 minute walk from the stadium. Only a small car park, maximum 5 car spaces. Our room had an en suite but the room was quite small, suitable for us only staying for one night. All the staff that we had contact with were very kind and helpful. For breakfast there was ample choice with fruit, pastries , cereal and full English which was very nice. There is a bus stop for the city centre right outside the hotel for a 15 minute journey with a £2 fare. All in all quite satisfied with the price paid and would stay again.
